A software engineer changed into a duped of ₹20 lakh in a web rip-off. The J.P. Nagar resident became lured into making funding for a business that claimed to be working on a remedy for cancer. In his criticism of the police, H.S. Ravi Kumar claimed to have received an electronic mail asking if he could invest in a commercial enterprise of natural seeds from India, which were touted to be a panacea for most cancers and continual diseases.

Kumar wrote lower back, expressing interest in making funding. According to the police, he received an email from a person identifying himself as Russell, who claimed to have moved to a multinational pharma giant. Through a sequence of emails, Russell advised him to purchase the seeds, which have been to be had in India and gave smartphone numbers of two humans, Girish and Shilpa, who might assist him in procuring the seeds. “Russell asked him to turn out to be an agent for the agency and promised Kumar an outstanding fee,” stated the police.

Kumar agreed to the phrases and was given in contact with Girish and Shilpa, who demanded ₹2.5 lakh in line with the packet of seeds. He positioned an order for ten packets and wired ₹20 lakh to their account. However, while he did not hear from them, he attempted contacting them on their mobile phones but found that the numbers had been disconnected.

He approached a cybercrime cell. Based on his criticism, the cybercrime cellular has registered a case under diverse sections of the IT Act. Police suspect that Kumar was the sufferer of a racket run by a gang from Nigeria with the help of a few Indians. Outsourcing, as a part of the whole business process, has become a common trend after successfully implementing globalization, privatization, and liberalization. Many businesses or individuals enjoy these benefits and get their work done by a different business entity or professional offering solutions from an offshore country. It allows them to utilize the best resources and talents, crossing the interfaces of their countries.

Needless to say, there are a few products and services easily manageable over the Internet. Software is one of the most significant among these. Both “product” and “service” apply to software solutions. Before being delivered to a business, it is considered a product. After delivery, maintenance, upgrading, and updating, the software comes under the service part.

This is why many SMEs and corporate giants love outsourcing software development tasks to a company (third-party vendor) in a foreign country. They expect a vendor’s product delivery (software) and associated services. Outsourcing helps them save costs, labor, and time, allowing them to concentrate better on their core competencies. However, outsourcing software development tasks has some significant advantages and disadvantages. This article will include these in brief.

Given below are the advantages of outsourcing software development projects:

Cost-saving

The common trend is outsourcing software development projects from developed countries like the US, the UK, Canada, Australia, and Germany to developing countries like India, China, Pakistan, Nepal, and Bangladesh. The reason is the lower labor cost. The hourly rate of a software engineer in India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh is much lower than the engineers offering solutions from countries like the US, the UK, Canada, Australia, or Germany.

Time-saving

As the outscoring company does not need to brainstorm on the software development process (hiring a programmer, providing him or her with the necessary tools and technologies, and supervising the work), it (the company) can save more time to concentrate on its core competencies. This benefits its business development. Moreover, the company can easily meet its deadline without considering the development process.

Utilization of the best talents

Outsourcing provides an excellent scope for utilizing the best talents, crossing the century-old interface. It allows the outsourcing company to reach the best talents easily over the Internet and utilize them for the growth and development of its business.

Have a look at the disadvantages of outsourcing software development:

No good control of the work

The outsourcing company has to depend fully on the vendor or the hired company, so it has no good control. Moreover, it must rely on the hired company in addition to deduction and customization.

Communication gap

As it is not face-to-face communication between the two parties, sometimes misunderstandings and distortions of the messages may prevent communication. The language barrier can also cause some difficulties for both parties.

Compromise on quality

In the case of a wrong selection, you may compromise on the quality of the work. Here, what you receive at the end fails to meet your expectations. As the hiring company is beyond your reach, you cannot physically challenge the unprofessional company. Daniel Mcbreen is a prolific writer interested in writing articles in the tech niche.
